Hailing from the South Shore of Lake superior The Old 13 String Bandit is a mixture of original American Roots influenced songs with a Punk edge, and an amalgam of classics from the American Songbook: country blues, early jazz, gospel, and old time string band music. With a magnetic energy cultivated from years of playing in punk bands, square dances and busking the streets of American cities, The Old 13 String Bandit is a high energy folk powerhouse featuring fingerstyle resonator guitar, foot percussion, and a firecracker vocal performance complimented with melodic kazoo and harmonica soloing. Often appearing as a One Man Band act or as a group with fiddles, horns and upright bass, The Old 13 String Bandits vulnerable songwriting hints at a storied past with relatable yet poetic lyrical content.
